Each plant requires seeds to grow. you can get these seeds from the Everlife store, other residents, and from your own plants when you HARVEST them.
Plants take 12 hours to mature. Once the are ready, you can HARVEST or BREED your plant.
Your level determines options you will see on your plant menu.
Level 1 + : GROW and HARVEST plants to collect ingredients to cook
Level 5 +: Unlock the BREED option for many plants that aren’t INSPIRED
-
When a plant is ready, you can HARVEST it in two ways:
Virtual Harvest = The product of this method goes directly into your Everlife Virtual inventory (used for cooking).
Physical Harvest = This method delivers and inworld item directly to your avatar.
When you select the HARVEST options, you should expect that most of the time, you’ll get items matching the plant’s mood. Sometimes, you’ll discover a different mood and rarely, you’ll get something Inspired.
-
Each plant has a MOOD. These are used when cooking meals and affect your Everlife stats.
Happy
Curious
Friendly
Inspired (rare)
These moods carry into cooking and other systems across Everlife.
-
Unlike crops, animals don't eat seeds. Animals eat Everlife ingredients. And different animals require different foods.
Your sheep might need Wheat. Another animal might need Corn. So before bringing home your newest farm resident, check what it eats, because you're going to need a supply of it.
-
Just ‘Cooking’, Everlife Animals access your virtual inventory. To see the current number of ‘feed’ needed for that animal, simply click animal itself (or a nearby Grocery Bag).
You’ll get a ‘mood’ option to ensure you only feed your animals the feed type you want, and when it has what it needs, your animal can begin producing.
-
Once your animal finishes its production cycle, it's time to collect. Click the animal and select ‘Harvest’, then decide if you want your ‘harvest’ to be delivered in 1 of 2 ways:
1 - Virtually: This means you want the harvest to be automatically put into your ‘virtual inventory’, ready to be accessed by the Grocery Bag. For most instances, you’ll do this when you farm.
2 - Physically: This means you’ll be given a physical item. This is great for any time you want to give away, or even sell, the harvest from your animals. The item is delivered to you inworld, and whenever you are ready, you can rez the item on the ground and ‘touch’ it to ‘put the harvest into your virtual inventory’.
Once you have selected your delivery method, you'll receive an Everlife ingredient in that particular way. Depending on what you're raising, you'll receive different Everlife ingredients, but overall your animals become another source of ingredients that can feed directly into the rest of your Everlife farm...and especially into your kitchen.
-
Just like plants, Everlife animals can have Moods. Happy. Curious. Friendly. Inspired. And the same rule applies:
Your animal's Mood is not your Player Mood.
Instead, the ingredient you collect carries that Mood into Everlife's food system. That ingredient can become part of a meal...and eating the finished meal is where that Mood can eventually become yours. So the Mood of the animal you choose to raise can be just as important as what it produces.
-
Your Everlife plants create Everlife ingredients. Those ingredients can feed your animals, your animals create other ingredients.
And all of those ingredients can eventually find their way into…your kitchen.
So growing crops and raising animals aren't really separate systems. They're different parts of the same Everlife food chain.
Just like farming, animal care requires you to be healthy enough to do the work. If one of your core needs drops below 30, you'll be too Sick to care for your animals.
At higher levels, plants and animals can be combined to create new ones. You’ll need at least TWO of each that are in the HARVEST / BREED state within 5 meters of each other to make a successful union.
Breeding also has a cost; often times much more than the cost it is to HARVEST a product. You’ll need many to get a successful offspring, but the new plant or animal inherits traits from its parents. This means the offspring usually matches one of the parent moods; similar to ‘harvested food’, occasionally you might get an Inspired, Curious, or Friendly offspring that gives special results. Experiment with different combinations to discover new outcomes.
There is no ‘virtual’ plant or animal; when you BREED your farm, a new plant or animal will be delivered to you in world.
