Everlife Adventures are scavenger hunts, stories, and exploration quests that encourage you to discover the amazing places Second Life has to offer.
As you travel, you'll uncover hidden collectibles, solve clues, meet new people, and build a permanent record of your journey. Every discovery becomes part of your Everlife story.
-
Visit the Everlife store and choose an Adventure Board to load new experiences. The PING button on your HUD will guide you toward each objective as you progress.
Some adventures simply encourage exploration. Others may require solving clues, collecting items, or preparing before moving on.
-
If you aren't interested in following the clues of your currently installed 'storyline' themed Adventure, you can choose to activate 'Regions Only' while you explore. Click your Everlife HUD and select Adventure / Change / Regions Only.
-
Players that are only interested in exploring can TURN OFF all the 'mood' features of their Everlife experience, and EXPLORE. This means they can explore the grid, collect Region Doubloons, collect Memories, and participate in many Everlife Adventures.
That being said, MOODS change your ADVENTURES. Those players that choose to player Everlife in 'FULL' mode are encouraged to visit Everlife locations to enjoy mood specific meals or, if they choose, to cook them in their own virtual homes. Each meal grants a temporary Mood that changes how you experience the world; try revisiting adventures with a different Mood; you may notice clues or details you missed the first time.
-
Need help finding your next destination? Want to check if you already own a Region's Doubloon? Press the Compass button on your HUD; Use it whenever you need a nudge in the right direction.
PING tells you:
Approximately how far away your objective is.
A clue to help you locate it.
Additional information based on your current Mood.
Some Adventures have things you'll need to find, collect, or carry along the way. These Virtual Adventure Items exist inside Everlife and help tell the story of an Adventure. You might discover a mysterious key, recover a lost journal, gather ingredients for someone you meet, or find an object you'll need several steps later. They don't take up space in your Second Life inventory; Everlife keeps track of them for you.
Throughout your Second Life exploration, you'll discover Doubloons. A Doubloon represents a region you've visited as a souvenior of the Adventures you’ve completed.
Once collected, a Doubloon is permanently added to your collection; you never need to earn it again.
Memories preserve important moments, locations, stories, and discoveries from your times in Second Life and at your favorite places. You might discover one on an Adventure as you follow a story or maybe discover that your favorite club has a Memory for you to collect when you connect to their ‘Friendly Beacon’ for the first time. Each Memory is permanently unlocked for your character and becomes part of your Everlife collection, even if the location fades away over time.
Physical Items make it possible for creators and brands to build some Adventures with an admission price and include real products as part of the experience. Instead of simply purchasing an item, you might have to explore, solve clues, complete a story, or reach a special destination to earn it. What you find along the way is yours to keep… even after the Adventure ends.
Your Traveler's Cabinet is your personal collection storage. It automatically records everything you've discovered during your adventures. As Everlife grows, the Traveler's Cabinet will continue expanding with new collections and achievements. Inside you'll find:
Every Doubloon you've collected (Adventure & Region Doubloons)
Every Memory you've unlocked
A log of all of your Adventure Items collected
A permanent record of your travels and regions you’ve mapped
-
A Wayfinder is an Everlife Explorer that spends time ‘charting’ new regions for Everlife.
-
Wayfinders locate regions in Second Life that haven’t been added, and take the time to submit the information needed to make a Doubloon.
-
Wayfinders submit basic region information SURLs, and a picture for the Doubloon. Many Wayfinders also provide basic information for collectors to learn about the region when they charted it.
-
Wayfinders receive 25 XP for every region they submit. This XP is applied to their Everlife profile during the weekly udpate.
